New Life

It has been quite some time since I left A-Levels in Taylor's and join the matriculation programme. I finally have access to a computer and post this...
Penang Matriculation College or Kolej Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang(KMPP) is located at a scenic spot in Seberang Prai. Far removed from civilisation of any kind, surrounded by paddy fields, kampung houses and even a stable, students are therefore free from various temptations. This together with limited internet access and a student to television ratio of 1:200 mean students can put full concentration in their studies. Welcome to KMPP! All you do here is study, study and study. OK... Maybe that was a bit of an overstatement. Afterall, there are 2 basketball fields, 2 tennis courts, 2 squash courts, 3 badminton courts and bicycles. There is also the cyber cafe, where you can MSN and play games(I heard). On weekends, there are buses that that take students to(faraway) shopping complexes(REMEMBER last bus back to KMPP at 6.45 pm!! Long story....). Right, maybe you are bored with my post already. But its my first one! You can't blame me! Here are some fun facts about KMPP:
1. The college policy is to assign 3 bumis and 1 non-bumis to a single room(oh, did i mention? 4 to a room).
2. If you are having any kind of non-life threatening illness, you are required to be at the 'pejabat felo' at 9 something for abus to take you to a government clinic.
3. If you were to skip class for 3 days, your parents hauled to court and charged under the Matriculation Act.
4. There is a public 'alarm clock' that will wake everyone up at 5 and 7 am(get what I mean?)
5. There is 1 canteen for boys and 2 for girls, 1(faraway) shop for boys and 3(just below their hostel) for girls. The boys cafe provide malay rice while the girls cafe sells fried rice, noodles, ais kacang fruits and cheaper malay rice.
6. Boys are not allowed into the girls cafeteria after 7.
7. The jaga for the girl blocks consist of several suspiciously identical(in terms of body size and shape) females, who happens to relish chasing boys away from the girls' cafeteria at 7 pm.
8. The badminton courts is so smooth that we can skate on it.
9. The photostat shop is known as KETAT(kedai fotostat).
10. Within KMPP resides a massive population of assorted bugs. In the range of millions, hundreds to each room, they disrupt students' studies and feed the population of spiders residing at the ceiling.
11. Green, black, brown... They come in all kinds of colours but the most horrible of them all are those small red-black bugs with large stings, crawling over your skin leaving a persistant scar that refuses to heal for weeks. This infamous bug was appropriately named....... Charlie.
12. Fogging routinely caused mass exodus as students are forced to evacuate their rooms.
13. There are 18 girls and 4 boys in my class. Threre are 5 hostel blocks for boys and 10 for girls.
That's all I can think of. Thanks for reaching the end of this immensely boring post.
